As a young adult in this current day and age, I have experience with technology every single day. I grew up learning on laptops and other electronic devices. I also have created presentations on Powerpoint and Prezi. In my middle school years, I was required to take a "Computers" class that taught me some basic skills behind Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Other than these systems, I am also well versed in using Canva. I use this website to produce marketing material for Victoria's Secret PINK on Florida State's campus as I am a representative of this company.

In this class I hope to refine my skills of these systems. I also hope to learn about other systems that can help me in my career. Although I am not an Education major, I plan on having teaching as my backup because I do enjoy working with children. Creating newsletters and other presentations are good skills that can help someone in any field they work for.

    I'm not sure what Victoria Secrets PINK does on campus, however that's very cool you do marketing stuff for it. I am also very into the marketing field and have used Canva before. I, like you am minoring in Education and will use this minor as a fall back, so it's nice to know someone else in this class is not an Education major.

    I think its awesome that you create marketing material for Victoria's Secret PINK as a rep at FSU. It sounds like its providing you with experiences that not everyone gets the chance to have. Good Luck!

For my first ILP, I chose to do an infographic on classroom rules. For this, I used Canva. This would ideally be laminated and displayed in a central area so that the entire classroom may view it. I chose these colors because they are bright and decided to add cute, little clip art that adds a childlike appeal to it. The rules are simple and sweet which make it easy for kids to understand.

Blog Post #1 There are many factors that have an influence on teachers and students using technology. Most importantly, the time period is what is causing technology to be more prevalent in the classroom setting.  Because technology now surrounds our everyday life, teachers must be able to master technology skills so that they can effectively teach students their own skills and prepare them for life in the job force. As a student, I use Microsoft Word a lot. I've written numerous essays, research papers and lab reports. It's amazing seeing how I used to use it just for the word art part to make fun little signs when I was younger, to now writing ten page papers. My teachers also use it for the same things, from creating assignments to writing letters to parents and even lesson plans. Teachers can also use word to create certificates. Word has helped speed up the education process by changing things from handwriting to being typed and it also allows things to get shared across a wider space.  My experience with copyright and fair use of materials in an education environment has mostly been with videos and teachers being allowed to use certain videos to teach lessons.
